Taking back control by changing our focus

Sharing my thoughts to you all with love & kindness.

“Right now, we are at a time of uncertainty & overwhelm.

Our internal alarm systems have been switched on.

What does that mean for us?

It means the lens in which we look at everything will be tainted in some level of fear/predator/impending doom feelings etc.

This is not normal or sustainable.

A remedy to this could be that you take back some control by changing your focus. Focus in on your circle of control. What you spend most of your thoughts & feelings on is what your reality will be.

I choose to spend my precious energy on the things that make me happy, that make me smile & laugh, those people & resources that build me up & inspire me to be the best version of myself.

I choose to spend my time motivating & inspiring others to be their best selves. I share useful empowering resources & tools. I share stories of hope & inspiration. I upskill myself with useful strategies known to make a difference & have worked well for us in the past.

I’m not putting my head in the sand but rather placing this current information in a secure spot on my “mental load” shelf. We cannot continue to carry this load every day without the weight of it causing us harm.

So I put it in a place of much less focus. Giving it only a quick glance from time to time & I get on with what gives my life meaning & purpose.

I get on with loving one another, with acts of kindness, however that may look, & with role modelling what I want to see rather then what I don’t.

I also realise my family needs me to be at my best. They need to feel my calm in this uncertain time. They need to see me playful, happy & attached to them.

I share these thoughts with love & kindness.

Together we can find a way back to ourselves. “
