Reframing Disability is proud to partner with Monash University to deliver the ‘Healthy Mothers Healthy Families’ program.

Healthy Mothers Healthy Families (HMHF) is an evidence-based health education and empowerment program for mothers and female caregivers raising a child with a disability.

The mission of the Healthy Mothers Healthy Families program is to support, empower and encourage mothers to learn about, and create a healthy lifestyle that fosters their own health and well-being, alongside a healthy, happy family life.

Reframing Disability has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services to deliver 20 Healthy Mothers Healthy Families group programs to mothers and female caregivers across Australia.

Each program includes three x 2-hour sessions over six weeks. The sessions provide mothers with information, research findings and the shared wisdom of other mothers, to better support mothers to meet their important daily responsibilities caring for their child with a disability and family, whilst also caring for themselves.

Healthy Mothers Healthy Families is a research-based program, and we are excited to be delivering such an innovative program.
