Healthy Mothers Healthy Families: Internationally Published Research on Kindred Facilitated Online Workshops
Healthy Mothers Healthy Families*, developed by Professor Helen Bourke-Taylor is the longest-running, most effective program for mothers of children with disabilities in the world. Over the past four years, Kindred has had the privilege of delivering this life-changing program across 34 online workshops to over 450 mothers.
We are incredibly proud of the impact we’ve helped mothers achieve, in partnership with Professor Bourke-Taylor, through the HMHF program.
A recent collaborative research project with Professor Bourke-Taylor, produced internationally published evidence demonstrating the significant benefits and positive impact of the Kindred-facilitated online HMHF’s workshops.
Key findings showed that:
- 95% of mothers reported an increase in health-promoting activities such as eating well, exercise & socialising.
- 98% of mothers reported improvements in their personal well-being.
- 92% reported depression symptoms within average limits after the workshop.
You can read the full research paper in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
While our project to deliver the HMHF program has come to an end, we do hope to offer HMHF again in the future. If you want to be kept informed of future groups you can register your interest on the HMHF page on our website. Or you can access the online modules available on the HMHF website.
